Andrew Distin Morgan was born in 1900 is Mosman, New South Wales. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1924 with his MB ChM (Bachelor of Medicine, Masters of Surgery). He would later graduate with a Diploma in Anaesthetics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1936. In 1940 he was appointed at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney. Alongside Margaret McClelland and Mary Burnell, Morgan was a pioneer in paediatric anaesthesia in Australia. Morgan was also active in volunteering at the Sunshine Homes for handicapped children.
