FANZCA<\/em> This exhibition is presented in conjunction with the publication of the Trailblazers & Peacekeepers book, and an exhibition on-site at the Geoffrey Kaye Museum of\u00a0Anaesthetic History<\/a> in Melbourne.<\/em><\/p>\n Doctors from Australia and New Zealand have administered anaesthesia and cared for those in pain, during every major conflict from the Boer War to modern day Afghanistan.<\/p>\n Often, equipment skills and practices now standard in modern hospital had their beginnings in war zones and were born from necessity.<\/p>\n Trailblazers & Peacekeepers<\/em> looks at the struggles, innovation and foresight of Australian and New Zealand anaesthetists and pain specialists as they tended to the sick and wounded.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left”]<\/p>\n About ANZCA<\/strong><\/p>\n The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) is the professional organisation for around 5000 specialist anaesthetists (Fellows) and 2000 anaesthetists in training (trainees).<\/p>\n One of Australasia’s largest specialist medical colleges, ANZCA, along with its Faculty of Pain Medicine, is responsible for the training, examination and specialist accreditation of anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists and for the standards of clinical practice in Australia and New Zealand. The College also plays a significant role in the advancement of anaesthesia in south-east Asia and South Pacific island countries.<\/p>\n ANZCA is governed by the ANZCA Council<\/a> and employs specialist staff <\/a>to help achieve its goals.<\/p>\n The College has a proud history in Australia and New Zealand.
